A WORD FROM THE DIRECTOR
De la quête de l’âme sœur. De l’attente, de l’appel, de l’espoir.
De la communication et de l’incommunicabilité.
Où le couple s’invente pour se défaire et se réinventer.
Jacques Languirand, Paris, 1962.
The search for love, a universal theme, seems more difficult than ever these days despite our obsession with communication demonstrated by the Internet and cell phone explosion to name only two technologies in an ever-growing range of media. And yet, paradoxically, never before has modern Man known such solitude.
But what is this partition—both impenetrable yet porous through which we hear private, disturbed murmurings—made of? Does it symbolize an invisible border woven of fantasy and cowardice behind which we cower, fearful to reveal our vulnerability?
To answer these questions, the spectator is asked to search within himself and invited to project onto the partition his own misgivings about relating to the Other.
